Hello golfer,
I would like to start this week's newsletter by thanking all of those who have taken the time to offer their best wishes to myself, Chris and James upon the news that we are leaving the club for a new venture at Exeter Golf and Country Club. It will be tough to leave Teign Valley after five and a half years of very enjoyable times at the club, but we would like to take the time to wish everyone connected with the club our very best wishes for the future.
Get your general knowledge ready as we are holding a Curry and Quiz Night on April 9th. Open to members and non-members, you can enter a team of up to eight players. The evening will start at 6:30pm when curry will be served with a pint or glass of wine. The quiz will then get underway at 7:30pm. It should be a fun night so please enter now via Nicola.
We have a few tee-times left for our first open event of the year, our 3 Player Open on Saturday, 30 April. Please contact the pro shop to book your team in.

To try and encourage quicker rounds - slow play is so frustrating!
What do you love the most about golf?
It's my switch off from everyday life time. Also its only down to me to play well or not.
Iron Strike
Here are a few quick techniques/tips to help improve the iron strike.
Ensure those hands are in front of the club at impact - this compresses the ball and utilises the grooves
Aim to hit down through the back of the ball to drive the ball forward with a reducing dynamic loft
Weight at impact should be nearly solely on the left foot to improve the above
Keep the head staring at a fixed point on the ball to ensure a centred strike
