I hope you have caught up on some sleep after a few late nights watching the Masters last weekend. What an amazing end to the best golf tournament in the world.
Who saw the Jordan Spieth collapse coming?
Who saw England's Danny Willett coming through with such maturity and composure?
Well I actually thought he may be good for a place hence why I put an each-way bet on two weeks ago at 70-1 odds. That will help pay for a few nappies come July. I have to say I think it was the most exciting back-nine of a Major for a few years. Spieth had struggled with his swing all week but had literally holed the world on the greens to stay in front. I actually said to a couple of the members on Sunday morning (who now have cold feet!) that I didn't think Spieth would win as I just felt that he couldn't keep getting away with his poor driving and iron play. I did not, however, expect the dramatic collapse that ensued.
I think we all appreciate that it's easy to drop shots at 10 and 11, and of course 12 is a very tricky tee shot. But to take a seven in such dramatic circumstances was a big shock. This opened the door for a lot of other players and for a while the likes of Dustin Johnson and Lee Westwood looked likely of making a challenge. However in the end it was Danny Willett who stayed focused on the job in hand and after a deft chip to save par at 17, followed by two great shots up 18, he posted the winning total of five-under-par which in the end proved too much for Spieth and the others.
Rory had an almost week again where just a few mental errors and missed putts made the difference. As cruel as fate can be, it was left to the broken man that was Jordan Spieth to hand over the Green Jacket to the new hero - anyone who has a heart can only have felt sorry for him as I'm sure all he wanted to do was go and hide away from the media and hide in a bunker somewhere.
So for Willett a first Major and now who knows what he may achieve. His all-round game looks very impressive and with the Ryder Cup year as well, all bodes well for British and European golf. For Spieth it's a case of lick the wounds and move on. Remember what happened to Rory a few years ago, a dramatic back-nine collapse at Augusta followed by an eight shot win at the US Open two months later. You really wouldn't bet against Spieth bouncing back just as quickly.

A good sized field took to the course at the weekend to compete in the Men's Stableford. Jon Martin took Division One's honours with 41 points, two ahead of runner-up Pete Duncan. Kevin Quick signed for 38 points in Division Two, edging ahead of Simon Cole on countback. 35 points was good enough for Gary Carr to secure top spot in Division Three, one ahead of Steve Saunders in second.
The first Midweek Stableford of the year took place on Wednesday with Howard Searle taking the honours with 36 points. Paul Madge finished in second with 35 points.
