Hello golfers,
I hope all is well. Another week has passed and the weather continues to be very kind indeed. We have a busy schedule of events coming up and hopefully you will continue to support these as you have all season. It is nice to come out of a busy Summer and yet still have plenty to look forward to as the year rolls on to its conclusion.
One such thing is our Golf Dinner Dance taking place on Saturday, 19 November at 7pm. There will be a 3-course dinner, auction and raffle with proceeds being donated to the incoming captain's charity. Click here for more details.
Mixed Open - Sunday saw the last Open event of the year take place as a good field played a greensomes format. The course was yet again in fantastic condition and the feedback from our visitors was very positive indeed.
The scoring reflected how well the course played as the winning score was 45 points, recorded by Grace Jackson and Ray Banfield. Runners up on 42 points were the pair of Julia Norman and Paul Jordan.
Men's Stableford - Cyril Gosling won Division One with 40 points, pipping Andrew Phillips by a single point. James McMurdo was third with 38 points. Division Two was won by Dave Robinson with a superb 43 points, four clear of Mike Fox took in second and Cliff Nightingale in third. Jamie Izzard took the honours in Division Three with 39 points, Bill Pattinson taking second and Roger Sclater third.
Ladies Stableford - A good field took to the course to compete in the Ladies Stableford. Grace Jackson won Division One with 37 points, beating Daryl Southwell on countback. Annie Norman came third with 35 points. Ann Hanncok signed for a superb 42 points to win Division Two, Sue Edwards finishing in second and Chris Norton third. Teresa Ratcliffe was top of Division Three with 40 points, beating Christine Ashby by one point. Ann Willett took third place with 36 points.
Studio Update
It has been another productive week in the Golf Studio. We'll see a shift in its construction over the next week as some major components will be arriving. I'm hoping that we will have it ready for Ryder Cup weekend in a couple of weeks, although I'm very keen to make sure it's completely finished before we open it.
There will be an announcement next week on a Winter Studio Membership as well which may be very appealing to many of you.
Winter Coaching Programme
I have delayed the release of our winter coaching programmes as I'm keen to incorporate the indoor studio within these and just need to give a little more though to its structure. I will continue to work on it this week and hopefully have it ready for next week's newsletter.
