Lessons Do Really Work!  

For anyone who may doubt whether golf lessons actually do make a difference then I can prove they do. In 9 of the top 10 teams from last Saturday's competition there were golfers who have been taking golf lessons with the Pro Shop Team. Our coaching theory is very simple. We will try to give you the least information needed to make any changes we feel will help your game. There are no major swing re-builds and no complicated terminology. Even the launch monitor and simulator we use in the indoor studio are a simple way of showing you exactly what we need to work on and shows when improvements have been made.  The fact is that, if we are all totally honest, we all want to improve our golf, I certainly do so therefore why just wait and hope to improve when your Pro Shop Team are ready and waiting to help you make those improvement's quickly whilst having fun doing it. Grips Save Shots  

It is a fact that grips in poor condition will lead to inferior performance and scoring. When grips start to wear out and lose traction your ability to hold the club with the correct grip pressure is severely affected. 

The tendency is to grip the club too tight in order to compensate for the lack of grip which then leads to poor rhythm and generally poor use of the hands in the golf swing. Seniors Short Game Lesson  

Myself and James spent a very enjoyable hour this week helping the seniors with their short game. We held a group session on the short game area where we covered chipping and pitching. 

It was great to see such a good turnout and it seemed like everyone really enjoyed the session and had good fun whilst hopefully picking up some handy tips at the same time. Next week is putting.

Ladies Four Ball Better Ball  

A good field took to the course to play in a better ball pairs format. A superb score of 48pts topped the leaderboard, coming from Verena Richardson and Gill Eveleigh. Runners up were Yvonne Russell and Charleen Reeves with 45pts.


Men's Four Man Team Event  

Another full field took to the course to play in 2-3-4 team event. It was hard to predict what the winning score may be but in the end a brilliant score of 123pts from Andy, Chris and Sam Rockey and Matt Baxter took top spot. Runners up were Dave Leverton, Nick Smith, Colin Chalk and Tim Gill with 114pts. In third 1pt further back were John Beevers, Jim Norton, Jerry Wollen and Mike Gregory.
