We are marching full steam ahead towards the new season as the evenings become lighter and new product continues to arrive in store. New Addition To The Professional Staff
As some of you may have heard I have recruited a new member of staff for the professional team. Tom Jessamine will be joining the team from next Wednesday. Tom is coming from Woodbury Park and I know some of you are already familiar with him. He is a really nice guy and is very ambitious and is excited to be coming in to work alongside myself, James and Chris. Our strong team will become even stronger and allow us to continue to deliver a superb service to the members here at the club. Please take the time to pop in and say hello to Tom from Wednesday. There will be a welcome piece from Tom himself in next week's newsletter.

Seniors Putting Clinic
I held another very successful clinic for the Seniors on Tuesday as this week we put the focus on putting. Covering all aspect's of the game within a game we discussed types of putters to use as well as good alignment, feel and routines. A great turnout once again and good fun was had as usual.

It's great to see that a vast amount of members are taking the opportunity to come and undertake lessons with the professional team. We are here to help! Our aim is to give you more enjoyment with your golf and see if we can get you improving that handicap along the way. With our brilliant indoor studio we are well equipped to give you the help you require. Our coaching philosophy is very simple. We try to work on the key that we feel will make the biggest difference to your golf. It is then explained in simple terms and allows you to be able to work on your improvements in practice. We can cover all aspects of the game and can also offer playing lessons on the golf course.

Member Experiences Released Next Week
As mentioned in previous newsletters I have a full list of members experiences planned for this year. These include clinics based around putting, chipping, bunkers as well as 10 yard challenge days, demo days, ball fitting days, shoe fitting days and much more.
Our aim as your professional staff is to deliver to you a first class golfing experience at the club. This is divided in to different sectors including giving you one of the very best pro shops in the South West. A state of the art indoor studio where you can have custom fittings or practice as well as offering you a comprehensive range of coaching opportunity's both in a group and individual basis.

US Masters Sweepstake
The start of the golf season is rapidly approaching and that means it's not long until the US Masters is with us. To add some further interest into the event I am running a US Masters Sweepstake through the pro shop. You simply come in and pay
£5 to write your name in a square then once the field for the Masters is confirmed a couple of days before the event you will get drawn at random a player for the event. Prizes will be awarded down to 5th place as well as daily prizes for best and worst round. 1st prize will be
£125 to spend in the Pro Shop. You can enter the sweepstake from this Saturday.
Bag Trade In We currently have a bag trade in promotion running in store. You can trade in your old bag and receive

Mens 4BBB Stableford Another full field took to the course last weekend to play in a 4BBB competition. With some of the tees moved further back it was going to be interesting to see what the scoring would be like.
Pete Alderson and
Richard Matthews took the honours with a brilliant 47pts. Runners up were Geoff Pascoe and Tim Harris with 46pts and 3rd were Paul Champion and Stuart Luxton with 44pts.
Modernising Golf's Rules
Last week the R&A proposed some key changes to the Rules of Golf from 2019. Their Rules Modernisation initiative has been underway for a few years now and this is the next stage in that process. The aim is to not only make the Rules easier to understand, but also to address some of the game's current problems, such as speed of play, and ensure they fit the needs of today's game.
