Greetings golfers,
So let me ask you a question. If you are struggling with your game, what do you do about it? Some of you may say that it happens to everybody and you will start playing well eventually and some of you may say that you practice more to try and turn it around. The reality is that both are valid answers; however on their own I don't think it's enough to really turn your game around. The reason I say this is down to a famous old saying "practice makes perfect" I have been told this so many times over the years, especially as I started my golfing career and at the outset this would seem to make sense. However this simply is not a true statement. Let me explain: You have an issue with slicing the ball but don't know why so you decide to hit 50 balls 3 times a week for a month to try in the hope it improves. The reality is it will not have improved you at all. All you are likely to have done is ingrain your fault 600 times! The actual saying we should be using is "perfect practice makes perfect, practice just makes permanent". Therefore by taking a golf lesson and being given the correct reason for hitting your slice as well as any drills to help eradicate it, your 600 practice balls working on the correct improvement undoubtedly will have helped enormously and your slice would be a thing of the past.
So what should you now do if you are struggling with your game?

What More Could I ask For?
Thank you Hilary Weatherley for her kind words after getting a club fitting here with us, we hope you enjoy them:
Having scored my first hole in one at Exeter Golf & Country Club recently, I decided to treat myself to a new set of irons to celebrate the momentous event. A good friend had also purchased a new set of irons and had chosen PING G Max and was raving about them in terms of the extra distance he was achieving over his old irons.
He very kindly allowed me to try a couple of clubs and immediately they felt comfortable at address and certainly I too achieved many more yards. So my mind was made up pretty quickly and the next port of call was to our superb new pro shop where a "club fitting" appointment was made.
Although the appointment in the studio was at 4.30pm on a Friday evening when most people's thoughts are on preparing to get away early prior to the weekend, Chris spent quality time with me as I tried different shaft lengths and strengths, different lie angles, grips etc etc. Using the newly installed tracking technology in the studio it was easy to see how the various tweaks were working and after much discussion and advice we agreed on the most suitable spec. given my height, swing speed etc.
I cannot speak highly enough of Chris's attention to detail and the superb levels of customer service provided by him. First class in every respect. And the icing on the cake? I collected the new set of custom fit irons on the Thursday following the previous Friday fitting!! Amazing.
