Hello golfers,
I hope you have all had a great bank holiday weekend and managed to play a little golf amongst watching the Chiefs, City and the BMW from Wentworth! It really was an amazing weekend of sport when you to in to the mix the FA Cup Final as well. For those that were not lucky to make the trip to London then I am sure there were plenty of BBQ's taking place as the whole of Exeter got behind the teams on their quest for glory.
Proud of Our Great City
Undoubtedly we should all be very proud of our great city of Exeter. This weekend in particular we saw the city's 2 big sporting teams head to the capital looking for major success in the sporting sector. Saturday saw an absolutely thrilling premiership final take place at Twickenham as the Chief's took on Wasps looking to go one better than last year. Boy did they come up trumps with a sensational extra time win to send the thousand's of chiefs fans delirious with celebration at becoming champions of England after only 7 years in the top flite. What a monumental achievement by all concerned and we are very proud of our partnership with them. Sunday, City took to the Wembley turf looking to seal promotion to Division 1. The young team battled valiantly against a strong Blackpool side but unfortunately went down 2-1. The thousand of fans who made the trip to support their side will have understandably have been gutted at the result but will hopefully look forward to this young team achieving much more in the near future.
So for sure Exeter is a city to be proud of. with its massive growth in business culture and its massive improvements in the social environment - it is a sought after place to live and work. We are lucky that we are a also a major part of this attraction at our superb venue here at Exeter Golf and Country Club as we attract new member's who want to be part of the great things we can offer.
Please Look After Our Short Game Area
Despite numerous requests we are still seeing a vast amount of damage around the short game area. Please can you remember to only hit a couple of shots from any one location before moving to a new position to reduce the wear and tear in any one area. Also please remember to replace any divots you make and take the divot mix with you as well. Also please refrain from hitting balls from the fringe of the green and taking divots. A new CCTV camera has been installed to help identify any culprits. Please be proud of our amazing facilities and do your part to keep them in great condition.
Juniors Leading The Way
Quite rightly, we are very proud of our junior section and are very grateful to Nick Parsons for all the effort and hard work he continues to put in with the juniors. Recent success includes James Reed winning the Devon Amateur event. There has also been appearance's for Devon for James, Max, Jack, Max, Fred and Harry. The juniors also played a match against East Devon last weekend and recorded a very impressive 4-2 victory.
Keep looking out for more updates on our ever growing junior section.

Lithium Batteries are much more lightweight than lead acid making it very easy to get in and out of your car boot along with they carry a much longer shelf-life. Motocaddy offer a Battery Lithium Warranty of up to 5 years for normal use. Ever since the first Motocaddy S1 was introduced back in 2006, it has been considered as the powered golf cart that a lot of people buy in the United Kingdom. But now, the company that manufactured this product has upgraded it so that it could run using a digital platform. In this digital age, it is imperative for companies to make sure that they are moving forward as well. The Motocaddy has a very efficient digital platform that was taken from the S3 model, which was also very successful. This Motocaddy S1 is very simple to operate and understand, which is why it is not that surprising that a lot of people prefer it over other powered golf carts.
Features
- Nine speed settings with on and off features (digital control):
The user simply has to twist any of the nine speed settings and tap the button in order to let the Motocaddy start. The S1 Digital will help the person to accelerate smoothly according to the speed selected. To stop, the person only has to tap the button again to stop. The digital platform that it runs on is of unsurpassed quality and reliability. - 200w motor:
This motor packs a lot of power but is very quiet when on. It also comes with a unique multi-platform battery tray that was designed to be able to carry "Standard", "Extended Range" or the Motocaddy lithium battery. - Lightweight frame:
Made out of aluminum, the frame of the Motocaddy S1 Digital is very lightweight and sturdy. It comes with the ergonomic handle grips of the S-Series. It also has the exclusive S-Series folding system that locks by itself when folded. The wheels that come with the frame are very low-profile, too. - Adjustable bag supports (upper and lower)
- Bags are easier to "carry" around, as the S1 Digital has supports that are fully adjustable.
Benefits
This powered golf cart is one of the best out there in the market, which is why many stores offer this to their customers. People who love playing golf (or watching others play) do not have to walk long distances with their golf stuff because they could travel at ease with the S1 Digital. Golfers could simply concentrate on their game instead of bother themselves to lugging around their things while playing. Even those who play up to 18 holes could enjoy using this cart without worrying that it would stop. The battery could reach up to 18 holes in just one charge!
