Hello golfers,
We have reached the week of the year's second major as the world's best players head for the fairly unknown Erin Hills. It looks to be a superb venue and a real test as the players look to secure the US Open title. Looking at likely winners I really find it hard to pick the champion. None of the world's big names are particularly showing any kind of form so it leaves it wide open and really there for the taking. This time next week we will know who the man of the moment was!
Wednesday Stableford
John Ware took the honours in the Wednesday Stableford as his 37pts took top spot. Steve Boyd beat Jonathan West and Ben Harding on countback to claim runners up spot.
Monthly Stableford
Another full field took to the course to compete in the monthly stableford. Andy Phillips won division 1 with 40pts. Runner up on countback was Josh Hawkesby with 39pts pipping Alan Cleave. Division 2 was won by Darren Taylor with 40pts. Jim Reynolds was runner up with 39pts with Steve Rice 3rd also with 39pts. Dave Mulvihill won division 3 with 38pts. Geoff Turner pipped Martin Woodward and Mike Chorley on countback to claim 3rd.
June Mixed Open Better Ball
Sunday saw a field of 110 compete in the June Mixed Open. With the weather set fair it was destined to be great day for both members and visitors alike. Leading the way were the home pair of Colin and Jayne Wayman who recorded 45pts to win by 2. The next home pair in the prizes were Darren and Sharon Thorpe who finished 5th with 42pts. Gill and Peter Dunsford finished 6th with 41pts.

Let's Keep It Simple
Most of the best golf lessons are always based around the word simple. Keeping it simple for the pupil to understand and also keeping it simple to allow the pupil a good opportunity to make any required change. The golf swing is not about looks and perfection it is about being functional and being repetitive. Obviously, sometimes in making a productive change to a technique you will improve its visual image. This however is a bi-product of the change being made. It is important to understand how your golf swing functions and what little keys make you play your best golf. By understanding your swing you can learn to get around the course in lower scores even when you don't quite have your A game.
Contact the Pro Shop or click here to come and have a swing review - You wont regret it!

The format is better ball pairs stableford and we have a fantastic prize table lined up with the 1st prize worth £300 per person. We will be having nearest the pins on every hole as well as first tee goodies and a half way house. The 4th hole is going to be great fun as this is where we will be having our betting hole! However if you hit the green I will put another £100 on your account - It's that simple!
It promises to be a great day so please contact the Pro Shop to book your time. There will be no ball draw for this, just sign up in the Pro Shop now.
We Need Your Help!
As you all know, our junior programs at Exeter are doing amazingly well. The only problem with having such a popular junior section is that we go through practice balls very quickly, so please, anyone who has any golf balls of any condition to donate to the junior section, it would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance!
