There is no secret, but we can help...
For me, coaching should try and create an environment that facilitates learning and performance for the golfer the most, and the central focus must be placed on an individual’s needs and wants. Unfortunately, there is no secret single answer to instantly fixing a players faults, but I believe in a structured development plan whilst encouraging and providing the correct and most effective practice for a player i.e. ‘quality’ of practice over ‘quantity.’ This can involve me watching you play 4 or 5 holes on the course before we sit down and together work out where and how you are throwing shots away, and how we plan to correct this over a period of time. I also try and follow the ‘guided discovery’ method, whereby I get students to explore new movements in a game based environment. This can help appreciate the ability to perform in the ‘game scenario’ is just as important as having the ‘perfect technique.’
Why not pop into the pro shop and have a conversation with me about your own game, and we can look to get in place a structured development plan, that will in the long term, only have a positive outcome on your game. The Professional Staff team and I are currently offering a 4 hole playing lesson currently for a reduced price of just £35.
