Hello golfers,

I hope you have all had the chance to swing the clubs this week! The weather has been a little kinder and we had a pretty busy weekend here at the club and it was nice to see many of you in and around the club.

We have a pretty busy schedule at the club in the coming weeks so hopefully the weather will continue to pick up and we can all play a bit more.

We are having a busy time here in the Pro Shop with many of you taking advantage of the arrival of demo clubs for our New hardware lines by coming up to have fittings on the GC2 Simulator. See our custom fitting section in the newsletter for more information.

Saturday saw a good field take to the course for the men's medal.

On a lovely day and with scoring conditions favourable it was likely that it would take some good scores to top the leaderboard. So this proved as the 3 division winners were a combined 11 under par! Paul Madge armed with some recently purchased TaylorMade irons topped Division 1 with a nett 66 beating Tom Sheffield in to runners up spot.

New member Wayne Eden won Division 2 with a nett 69 beating Dave Shipp in to 2nd place who had a nett 71. Round of the day belonged to Roger Noden who recorded a brilliant nett 64 to beat Vince Chalk who signed for a nett 69.

This week sees a men's roll up and A team practice on Saturday and the Mixed Crosby Shield on Sunday followed by the England vs Wales rugby match so a good weekend is on the cards.

Slippery slope

Many golfers are unaware of how important it is to have grips that are in good condition. We see many golfers who have had their clubs for years and still have the original grips on which have gone hard and shiney.

With grips in such poor condition it is virtually impossible to hold the club with good traction without increasing grip pressure which is the slippery slope to bad golf shots. Tight grip pressure leads to poor tempo and restricted positions and inevitably poor results.

With re-gripping starting from as little as £3.99 per club it is certainly worth popping in to the Pro shop for myself or Chris to take a look at your grips to see if you would benefit from new grips.

Our GC2 Launch Monitor and Simulator

Nike Demo and ball fitting day

On Saturday 15th March 11-4pm we are having a Nike Golf demo and ball fitting day.

This is a great opportunity to come along and try this years New Covert range of irons and woods as well as the chance to be fitted with the New RZN ball for FREE!

Demo testers

We are pretty close now to having our full stock if demo products for this years hardware range. I have a list of members who are keen to come along and test new products for us and then give a product review that we can then use in the newsletter to give all our readers an insightful review of each product.

New Stock

We are currently receiving in to store this years new stock. We are going to be well stocked in every department including hardware, clothing and shoes. Alongside the hardware we will be holding demo carts in all our hardware brands, Nike, TaylorMade, PING and Wilson. This allows us to custom fit you perfectly with the correct head and shaft combination ideally suited to improve your golf game.

In the shoe department we are going to be stocking Nike, adidas and FootJoy and will be offering a wide cross section of styles and colours. Nike, Under Armour, FootJoy and Galvin Green are our choice of clothing company's this season. We believe that the innovation behind these brands coupled with excellent price points allow us to cater for all our customers.

10 yard challenge

We are just finalising the date for our 10 yard challenge. This initiative is based upon us having the challenge to improve your drive by 10 yards through either a technique change or a equipment change. If we do not achieve this then we will give you a sleeve of balls FREE.
