I'm sorry Thomas!
Well what an amazing Ryder Cup that was! It was an absolutely gripping and a thoroughly deserved win for Thomas Bjorn’s European Team. The golf course at Le Golf National was simply a brilliant venue and perfect for the matchplay format. After a slow start on the Friday morning the European team clicked into overdrive as they won the next 2 sessions 7-1! Sunday was destined to bring thrills and spills but could it see a comeback from the USA - no! Although for about 45 minutes at one point it looked to be getting closer, the Europeans stepped up a gear and ran out comfortable winners in front of jubilant home crowd. Ryder Cup Accolades Here are my awards from last weeks Ryder Cup: Top American – Justin Thomas – played with passion and determination…unlike some of his team mates! Top European – Frankie Molinari – 5 wins out of 5 says it all! Biggest American Flop – Phil Mickleson and Tiger didn’t win a single point between them! Biggest European Flop – Nobody, everyone won at least 1 point! Shot of The Week – Noren’s putt on the 18th on Sunday! A perfect end to a brilliant event! Captains Mark out of 10 – Bjorn 10 – Furyk 7 Bjorn picked his wild cards superbly, got his pairings spot on and gave his team the platform to do what they do best. Furyk’s wild card were solid but both Tiger and Phil let him down badly! Could have done better with some of his pairings, particularly in foursomes but the fact was his team were outplayed. Simple! My apology! I really felt before the event that the Americans had the stronger team and would win. However I take it all back as the European team won comfortably and deservedly so! I am sorry to Thomas and his boys for ever doubting you, you are all legends.
