This weeks newsletter is a bit short and sweet unfortunately as I have been playing up in North Wales this week on a superb if not slightly emotional golf break in memory of a friend of mine.
When Celtic Manor was awarded the 2010 Ryder Cup, Wales Tourism used pictures of the stunning Nefyn Golf Club to advertise golf in Wales. Through these pictures my friend Dave fell in love with Nefyn and it was his dream to one day play the course. Unfortunately Dave became ill and sadly passed away before fulfilling his dream.
I made the long trip to North Wales with his wife and some of his friends to play Nefyn and Porthmadog in honour and in memory of Dave.
I can highly recommend both courses and by far they have the best scenery and layout of any courses I have had the pleasure of playing.
We took the time at the far end of the course to sample a bottle of becks, Daves favourite beer whilst looking on in awe of the view we were surrounded by. I shall be returning for sure as it is now a special place and look forward to having my friend walk with me every step of the way.
Time For A New Bag
Now is a great time to treat yourself to a new golf bag. We have some great savings on both cart and stand bags from a wide choice of brands.
Pop in and take a look at what we have in stock and grab yourself a bargain.
Professional Coaching Tip
Do you know the basics?
This week just a few fun thoughts about golf that I hope you all know all. However, if not, or you do not do this in your game then it will definitely be worth booking a session and addressing some of these fundamental faults.
1) where the club points at impact dictates where the golf ball starts much more than the swing path 2) hitting up on your driver can create more distance 3) a ball struck out of the toe will go further than a ball struck out of the heel with driver 4) just because you have hit the floor it does not necessarily mean you are hitting too far down on the ball 5) the right golf ball can make a huge difference to distance 6) non custom fitted clubs can cause directional/strike/distance problems even if you are making a good swing 7) weight/pressure should be nearly fully on the left foot at impact
Please be aware that starting from next week and through the winter the main days I will be coaching are ; Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Saturday. 8.00am - 8.00pm
Sessions can be booked on other days if possible if you've spoken with me in advance. I will notify of any changes to the days when needed.

Ronnie Madell was star performer as his superb nett 61 put him joint leader with 1 round to go. Other notable scores came from Mike Wilson and Harry Pierce who recorded nett 66's and Steve Pierce who signed for a nett 65.
Our Customer Survey
Here in the Pro Shop we are always looking at ways to improve both the type of services and the quality of services we provide to our customers. We value your opinions and so we are asking if you would mind taking a few minutes to answer our questionnaire.
I am always looking to freshen the shop up with by either stocking different brands or different types of products. Some brands I stock now are very popular and will remain with us but I am also looking at bringing in new ones. It would be invaluable to get your thoughts and feedback and I look forward to looking at your thoughts.
Click here to complete my survey. It will only take you a few minutes.
Enjoy the rest of the newsletter and have a great weekend.
